You'll learn the fundamentals, such as breathing and beginner postures, and then link postures together to create a beginner routine. You'll also learn about tools to help you move yoga principles into your daily life.

We'll start with a brief overview of this ancient practice and its role in modern life. Then you'll get an introduction to the role the breath plays in yoga, with directions on how to practice deep abdominal breathing techniques.
Now that you understand the importance of proper breathing, you're ready to learn about yoga asanas, or postures. You'll get an introduction to the different kinds of yoga postures, then we'll highlight some common beginner poses.
Your yoga practice becomes deeper and richer when you link poses together into a series. In this lesson, you'll get instructions for a basic beginner routine from warm-up to cool-down, as well as suggestions for getting started.
This final lesson offers guidelines for creating a personal practice, with advice on setting up your space, sequencing postures, and other ways to bring yoga home. We'll end with an introduction to other aspects of yoga off the mat.
